Originally constructed in 1894, TwoFortyThirty began as one of New York City's four original Fire Patrol Stations, located in Tenderloin district, an area then known for its crime and vibrancy. Designed by the architectural firm D’Oench & Simon, the station exemplified the Flemish Revival style popular at the time, with distinctive features such as an elaborate stepped gable, a peaked roof clad in Spanish tile, Indiana limestone cladding on the ground floor, and cream-colored brick with terra cotta ornamentation on the upper levels. The building was completed in September 1895 and served as Patrol Company No. 1.
Though the original Flemish Revival gable and peaked roof were replaced with a stepped parapet and flat roof during the 20th century, much of the building’s architectural integrity and charm were preserved. It continued to stand as a testament to its historical roots and functional purpose until its decommissioning in 2006, marking the end of an era for one of New York City's unique fire patrol stations.
In February 2020, Cerbelli Creative and LG Group, Inc. took on the ambitious task of revitalizing the space amidst the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. Led by Michael Cerbelli, Founder, CEO / President of Cerbelli Creative, the team meticulously preserved the building’s architectural heritage, including graffiti art introduced by various previous owners, while seamlessly incorporating modern elements that make the venue truly unique. The first and third floors now serve as intimate, versatile event spaces, while the second and fourth floors house Cerbelli Creative and a community of hospitality professionals.
Located at the vibrant crossroads of Chelsea and Hudson Yards, TwoFortyThirty embodies a seamless blend of historic preservation and contemporary innovation. TwoFortyThirty is more than just an event space; it is an intimate sanctuary amidst the urban landscape where creativity thrives and unforgettable experiences unfold.
